I will be completely honest, the day of, I was all nerves.
As a mom of two, I wasn't back in the body I dreamed I would be in if I ever decided to book a shoot...but here we were. I had two options of how my day would go, I could either dwell on the negatives, or I could completely embrace it for what it was. And that's exactly what I did.
From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by Sydney, I knew I had made the right choice with why I chose Sugar and Spice to begin with. I was referred to by a friend that told me:
"It's one of those things in life you can't really explain until you experience it."
As I sat in the chair getting all dolled up by Sydney and Vic, they wanted to know about me, we chatted about work, kids, husbands, weddings, what I wanted to take away from this shoot, you name it - we chatted about it.
I had an idea of what 'looks' I wanted but struggled mentally on what I wanted to wear. That struggle was quickly taken away when Vic took control and said: "Here: you will look great in this! Oh, this color will go so well with your hair color and eyes." She made what I thought would be the most terrifying part, the most simple part.
When it was my turn to shoot, Katya came out and took charge. During each look, between her and Vic, they listened to the input I had given while I was getting ready and made sure to get multiple poses in each 'look'. While shooting each pose, I have never felt so sexy with the feedback I was getting. They make a person feel so comfortable and the experience, more or less, super easy. The website isn't lying when they say these ladies turn into your best friends in minutes.
Leaving the studio I felt like I had known each and everyone of them since forever!!
You leave the studio feeling so confident in your own skin you don't want it to go away.
Then the real wait begins, the wait of the proofs. But let me tell you, the wait is worth every minute!! I got mine back within a week's time, and I was over the top impressed with all of them!! Picking will be the hardest part of this entire experience. As a mom of two, I booked this not only as a gift for my husband's birthday, but a gift for myself. Sure, there is make up and extensions involved, but the ladies at Sugar and Spice help bring out the best in a person! It was such a confidence boost when I left, I made a promise to myself to always find that feeling when I'm about to have a moment when I want to tear myself down (because of bad hair day or my clothes not fitting the way I want them to).
Hands down the best team to work with if you're looking for a shoot like this. Might have been my first but will not be my last!!
