I grew up the oldest of 4 siblings very close in age and played softball, volleyball, swim team and hockey in school. My childhood friends were mostly boys (because they lived close). I grew up learning to work on cars, riding bikes and other outdoor actives with my guy friends. I got into a car accident my senior year of high school where I was T-boned by someone traveling over 60 mph. The car rolled and I was ejected out of the sunroof. I sustained many injuries and they weren't sure I was going to make it; then if I would even walk; and lastly, if I would ever be able to have kids. My mom told the doctors, "You don't know my daughter".
I was...(who am I kidding?)...I AM very stubborn.
I was married before graduating school and shortly after had two kids. That husband was 28 years old when we met and I was 17. He wasn't a very good person, but that is neither here nor there. We didn't go to an attorney for the divorce, and he got the house and vehicles - I just wanted the kids. I sold what I did have and we spent the summer driving around the US on a long road trip. My girls were 3 and 4 at this time. It was very cleansing.
When I came back I started working 4 jobs and going to college to get my AA degree. I was enrolled in the law enforcement program when I met my second husband. He was against me going into LE and I shortly after that became pregnant with my third child, a boy. We got married and I was a stay at home mom. I bartended once in a while and joined the local fire department. My husband lost his job and after filing for bankruptcy I applied for and got a job at 911. While there, I went back to school and got my degree in Criminal Justice. When I wasn't working I was enjoying outdoor activities with my family such as camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling, canoeing, boating, fishing, hunting and traveling. I also started remodeling a foreclosed house we had purchased with my dad. He taught me how to sheetrock, mud and tape, replace windows etc.
In the last couple of years I have experienced a break down of my 16 year marriage and am now getting a divorce. In the last couple of years I have also lost 100 pounds.
I had finally started taking care of myself.
I have been crossing things off of my bucket list such as getting a my motorcycle license and purchasing a motorcycle, getting my scuba certification and even enrolled in school to get my degree in law enforcement. I was taking flying/pilots lessons but had to put it on hold for the divorce. I moved out 7 months ago and have just purchased another foreclosed house with my dad, which I am currently roofing. That's the gist of what I have going on.

I heard about Sugar and Spice Photography and booked a boudoir photo session. I had never done anything like it before and have always participated in very male centric hobbies. I wear mascara for makeup and dress in blue jeans and sweatshirts. The ladies at S&S were absolutely amazing and made me feel beautiful. I was not very helpful as far as what to wear, but they helped with everything. Down to the last detail - they were wonderful. These pictures came at a place where I was starting to do things for me and working on self love.
